Our organisation was founded in 2015, focusing mainly on young people, more specifically on the so-called Generation Z.
Generation Z, or young people born between 1995 and 2010 have increasing access to information, due to the development and speed of communication tools, their native use of technology allowing them to process the data in a different way compared to the X or Y generations. We have created the Foundation for Generation Z in order to enable this age group to make the most out of the information available to them, to enhance their ability to shape their conscious future, to engage in a dialogue with members of their own and of older generations, as well as to become productive members of our society.
Given its fundamental philosophy, our foundation addresses primarily the digital challenges affecting young people, their situation on the labour market and the training-educational possibilities provided by the digital technology. Beyond these matters, the work of our foundation also includes the productive leisure activities of young people, their socialization, voluntary social role, as well as their professional and cultural development.
Due to its geographical location, our foundation considers it is extremely important to promote intergenerational and interethnic relations, cross-border cooperation, strengthening the Carpathian Basin youth relations and the cross-border Hungarian-Romanian youth dialogue.
A great part of our activities revolve around accident prevention involving young people, with our work focuses mainly on school road safety education and campaigns. On the other hand, we address separately the dangers of drug and alcohol consumption among young people and the prevention of resulting traffic accidents. The Foundation Generation Z is running a Road Safety Club for young people and has initiated the process of establishing a permanent Road Safety House in cooperation with other youth entities.
Our organisation takes part annually in the Campus Festival, the biggest youth event in the region ( 4 days, 20.000 visitors per day), rolling out road safety campaigns. Every year we organise drug and alcohol prevention, and safe road campaigns in the county seat (Debrecen), as part of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. As a recurrent and very successful programme of the Foundation, we continue the Road Safety Poster and Paintings Competition for elementary schools and kindergartens.
